Copyright Assignment Agreement

 

1.      The Writer hereby assigns, transfers, sets over and delivers to the Publisher all right, title and interest to the work, including the copyright.

2.      The rights hereby assigned by the writer to the publisher comprise all the rights in the work of every kind, nature and description, including, but not limited to, (a) the right to use, license, exploit, sell or otherwise dispose of the work as the Publisher sees fit; (b) all publication rights therein, including but not limited to: print rights in all forms and media; radio and television broadcast rights; mechanical, electronic, and video rights; rights in all other forms and media either now known or hereafter discovered; (c) the right to secure copyright on the work throughout the world in all languages; and (d) all subsidiary rights therein.

3.      The Writer hereby represents and warrants that the Writer is the sole Writer of the work; that the work is original and has not heretofore been published; that the work does not infringe upon any statutory copyright, common law right, proprietary rights, or any other right whatsoever; that the work is innocent and contains no matter contrary to law, that the Writer is the sole owner of the work and said rights are in all respects free and clear; and that the Writer has not heretofore made any commitment with respect with respect thereto in conflict with the terms of this agreement.

4.      The Publisher shall pay the Writer $50 on first publication of the work.  This amount shall be full and final payment for the work and all rights therein.

5.      The Publisher shall have the right to deal with the work in any manner deemed expedient in the sole judgment of the Publisher, including the right (a) to condense, expand, revise, rewrite, or retitle; (b) to publish or not; (c) to register the copyright in the work in the Publisher’s name, or any imprint thereof.

6.      In any event any provision hereof shall be for any reason deemed illegal or unenforceable, the same shall not affect the validity or enforceability of the remaining provisions hereof.

7.      This agreement shall be construed according to the laws of the State of Tennessee.
